As you posted it, it reads as racist. There was little to no explanation as to why you wanted to draw attention to that article. The problem, it seems, was in delivery more so than intent.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8707578.post-1127782541796084192005-09-26T20:55:00.000-04:002005-09-26T20:55:00.000-04:00I don't know you, so I can't speak to whether or n...I don't know you, so I can't speak to whether or not you're truly racist. However, I would like to point out that racism is an "equal opportunity" point of view, and anyone of any race can be racist. Making sweeping generalizations about people based purely on their race is racist, regardless of the generalizer's background. A black man can be racist, too, if he isn't inclined to think beyond the apparent commonality of skin color to recognize the individual differences people of all such large groups have. It is indeed someone else's opinion that you quote, but you do quote it, without any sort of qualification other than to try and say "here's something I think you should see, but don't call me racist just because I think a racist quote is relevant and something you should see." If you're not prepared to own something, you shouldn't put it out there to begin with. You did think that quote was relevant, didn't you? And for what non-racist reason might that be?????Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
